Finding Architecture Jobs in New Zeaand on Working Holiday Visa
Quote from rhysb on February 6, 2025, 11:26 amHi there,
I was hoping someone might be offer me some advice. I've bought a NZ Working Holiday visa and I'm contemplating going over in the next couple of months.
I'm not really going over there to be a backpacker though, I'm looking to find a job as a Graduate Architect, so was wondering if anyone has done something similar and had any advice?
I'm aware it's unlikely I'd find a job before getting to NZ, so would get a labouring or restaurant work while I search for a job in an architectural practice. Obviously it's all depend on experience etc, but with the Christchurch rebuild there's a lot of construction going on so i'm hoping I will be in a good chance of finding something.
Thanks in advance :).

If you are an engineer the civil and structural journals nowadays contain numerous tempting ads for work out there and, occasionally, those countries even hold job fairs in various UK cities. Would be better to get a job lined up before you go, some companies might help with travel and moving costs. Good luck!
