Any scuba Instructors out there who can help me?

I'm 40 years old, was totally bored in my job and after 18 years of teaching I just might have had enough of it, I have actually been made redundant and I'm planning some trips to South America and elsewhere. I have £65,000 savings, no property. I am very well traveled and love diving, I have over 300+ dives.

I have always fantasised about being a SI but something has always held me back, lots of work for very poor pay being one of the things !! Has anyone else made the change at my age and how did it work out?
