Is StudentUniverse a good website?
Quote from Niamh on November 15, 2024, 8:34 pmI am in college planning on traveling solo after graduation in May.
I checked out flight prices on StudentUniverse, and have found some to be much cheaper than what is offered through anyone else (about £100-£200 less).
However, I have read that it is much easier/safer to book flights directly from airlines. So I'm debating if the savings are worth it.
Does anyone else have experience using StudentUniverse or a similar company? If I'm set on not having to change my travel plans, is there really a disadvantage to booking through SU? Most of the complaints I read were about issues with changing or cancelling flights...I'm a very plan-ahead person, so I do not foresee this being an issue with me (knock on wood).

Quote from travellinglife on November 21, 2024, 11:06 pmYes, I agree.
For long haul I use the online travel agents.First I go through Momondo or Skyscanner (consolidators not travel agents) to get prices etc, then I buy from the best options suggested with the online agent.
If I go budget airline I buy direct from their website (eg Ryanair, Airasia etc) as there is no saving to be made with an online travel agent.
