Quote from gabi on November 1, 2024, 11:47 pmAll laundry facilities are provided at camp, some could be pay machine operated, and these are used by both staff and guests, while others will be for staff use only, where you can store your laundry things away from campers.
My camp had two different areas for staff laundry use. The keys to access both laundrys were kept in the staff lounge. We were told to keep our washing soap/liquid/powder in either of them. Usually some staff purchased way too much washing powder, and they allowed other staff (mostly the Internationals) to wash their clothes using the powder, so don't worry if you havn't purchased any washing powder in time, as there will be staff who will let you use their powder, and others will allow you to combine your washing and their washing in the same machine. Usually each camp will also have washing powder that you can purchase at the camp office/store. During your time offs, there will always be someone going to WalMart, K-Mart, so you could catch a ride with them
Camp life is HEAPS of fun. I wish I was going back this year, and around this time, I was busy writing down things that I need to take to camp.
If your worried or scared about camp, then there is nothing to worry about. Before I departed for the first time I was very worried, but once I got settled into camp, I loved every minute I was there, and that was one of the reasons why I went back to the same camp last year.
If anyone has got any further questions about camp life, then fire away and us returned counselors will happily answer them.
