SE Asia is it best to book accommodation ahead or just show up?
Quote from maddys123 on November 15, 2024, 9:58 pmOk so I spoke to a friend who travelled SE Asia (where I plan to go).
He said his technique was to book one night in a place he thought looked decent, then decide if he liked it and if so he'd haggle for the room a bit lower for a few more nights. If not he'd move on. However I was wondering if this is a generally accepted good idea? or if there is a high chance that hostels tend to be booked months in advance and my mate got lucky?
Thank you for any help.

Find a place I like, pay for the night. Then decide if I want to stay longer or not.
Sometimes you can bargain and get a discount, particularly if it's not high season.
Sometimes of course it may be fully booked but they were usually help you find another place..n.
