Should I let my 17 yo daughter volunteer abroad?

My daughter is hoping to travel to Nepal as part of a gap experience next year when she will be just a few months over 17. She will have to fly independently to London then to Kathmandu with a stop in between for a few hours.

When she arrives in Kathmandu she will meet up with her group and someone from the company but she has very limited experience of solo travel even within the UK and is a gentle soul. I don't want to stand in her way but on other hand don't want her to be scared and out of her depth? The airline doesn't give any special assistance to 17 year olds. Should I let her go?

Why not it is all a learning curve. No issue changing planes nice and easy. I presume via Dubai which is very easy to do.

You know your daughter better than anyone else. If she says she's happy to travel alone you can tell if she means it.

BTW some airlines extend their unaccompanied minor service to 17 years of age if that makes you or your daughter feel better - all depends where she is flying from as to which airlines are available.
